At ARRB Systems, we specialise in delivering the “structural truth” of road networks. While many in the industry view Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) as a stand-alone service, our global operations integrate GPR directly into the iPAVe platform. This allows us to capture high-definition subsurface data simultaneously with functional and structural condition metrics, providing the most comprehensive pavement dataset available today. Given the increasing relevance of GPR, some of our operations also run vehicles dedicated solely to GPR.
In collaboration with the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport, we conducted an extensive comparative study along provincial routes P22-1 and P7-4. The objective was clear: validate the accuracy of non-destructive GPR against traditional intrusive test pits to prove that network-level intelligence can be both faster and more reliable than point-based sampling.
