At ARRB SYSTEMS, we are proud to be in the midst of our third consecutive year of conducting runway friction measurement testing across all nine airports in South Africa in partnership with Airports Company South Africa (ACSA). This initiative plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and compliance of some of Africa’s busiest aviation hubs, including OR Tambo International Airport, Cape Town International Airport, and King Shaka International Airport.

Our highly specialized airport operations team performs these critical tests exclusively at night to minimize disruptions to daily airport activities. The detailed data we provide offers ACSA valuable, data-driven insights into runway surface conditions, allowing them to strategically plan and implement essential maintenance measures, such as rubber removal, to optimize aircraft braking performance and ensure compliance with international safety standards.

Since 2022, our collaboration with ACSA has reinforced the importance of proactive runway management in maintaining aviation safety. By leveraging advanced runway friction testing, we help airports improve operational efficiency, reduce safety risks, and enhance the overall passenger experience.

As we continue this journey, we remain committed to delivering world-class expertise in runway assessment, safety compliance, and infrastructure management ensuring all aircraft landings are safe.
