ARRB Systems Contributes to Safer Roads in Limpopo Province with LRSS Launch

ARRB Systems, South Africa is proud to have contributed to the launch of the Limpopo Road Safety Strategy (LRSS) 2025–2035, a groundbreaking initiative that sets the roadmap for achieving safer roads in the Province of Limpopo, South Africa. The strategy – developed under an Anglo-American Foundation funded programme – was showcased on 6 December 2024, in Polokwane, marks a significant step toward driving provincial planning and working collaboratively towards reducing road fatalities and ensuring the safety of all road users. ARRB Systems SA was represented by Mrs Talia Ismail (Senior Road Safety Technician) and Mr Njabulo Ndovela (Road Safety Technologist).

At the official Limpopo Road Safety Programme (LRSP) Media briefing, Mrs Talia Ismail, Senior Road Safety Technician at ARRB Systems SA, presented critical insights from Project 5 of the LRSP. ARRB Systems utilised the International Road Assessment (iRAP) methodology to assess 1,001 km of Limpopo’s road networks, identifying high-risk sections and recommending interventions that align with “Vision Zero”. Insights from these assessments that will guide interventions by the Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety (LDTCS) in a coordinated effort to reduce road fatalities, particularly during the festive season and beyond. 

The event showcased the collaborative efforts of stakeholders in addressing the province’s unique road safety challenges. The LRSS highlights the importance of partnerships between private organisations like ARRB Systems and government entities to create impactful, sustainable road safety solutions.
