ARRB Systems at the SEPPP Annual Meeting: Advancing Pavement Resilience and Data-Driven Infrastructure

The Southeastern Pavement Preservation Partnership (SEPPP) Annual Meeting brought together state DOTs, local agencies, and industry partners from across the Southeast to advance conversations around pavement preservation, friction management, data collection, and emerging technologies — with strong cross-sector collaboration throughout.

Neil Mastin as a Panelist in the Resilience Session

ARRB Systems was represented by Neil Mastin, who participated as a panelist in the Resilience session alongside Aaron Gerber (Mott MacDonald), David Spainhour (North Carolina DOT), Mark Woods (Applied Pavement Technology Inc.), and Eric Lough (West Virginia Division of Highways). The session explored strategies for building more resilient infrastructure, with a focus on proactive, data-driven approaches to pavement management and long-term asset preservation.

Showcasing iPAVe: Integrated Pavement Data Collection

Neil also presented iPAVe, ARRB Systems’ integrated data collection platform that delivers a comprehensive picture of pavement condition and structural health in a single pass, combining three key technologies:

  • LCMS captures surface condition data including surface distresses, IRI, and rutting.
  • TSD (Traffic Speed Deflectometer) measures pavement deflection at traffic speed, providing structural outputs incorporating layer thickness information.
  • 3D GPR delivers subsurface insights including pavement layer thickness, stripping detection, void and moisture identification, and concrete deterioration analysis.

Together, these technologies give agencies a holistic view of pavement condition, enabling smarter investment decisions and more targeted preservation strategies.

Contributing to the Future of Transportation Infrastructure

ARRB Systems’ participation at SEPPP reflects our commitment to advancing pavement data innovation and supporting agencies in making informed, evidence-based decisions. We look forward to continuing these conversations and working alongside DOTs and industry partners to shape the future of pavement preservation across the Southeast and beyond.
