The intelligent Safety Assessment Vehicle (iSAVe), is a critical tool for ensuring the safety of motorists in wet road conditions, by pinpointing areas where vehicle tyres have less grip on the road.

The iSAVe utilises Hawkeye Insight for data interrogation and visualisation, to allow for identification of areas that have high crash risk pavement surfacing conditions.

High Repeatability and Accuracy

Survey data is stored directly on the android device, with the only limitation being the storage capacity of the device. This allows for extensive data collection without the need for additional storage solutions, streamlining the data management process.

The core of the iSAVe is the Sideways Force Coefficient (SFC) assembly which measures the friction of the road surface in the wheelpaths

Works continuously at traffic speeds, with an operating speed range of at least 50 to 80 km/h 

Able to collect far more data than traditional locked wheel or friction testing equipment such as a grip tester or other trailer-based CFME devices

Efficient water usage, with a water flow regulated pump controller to ensure correct flow at all speeds, with flow automatically turned on when the measurement wheel is lowered and off when the wheel is raised

Also fitted with sensors capable of collecting roughness, rutting, macrotexture, imagery, geometry and spatial and linear referencing location

Fully integrated into the Hawkeye platform – Hawkeye Insight can be used to for data display and investigation

Accurate Skid Resistance Measurement

Determines skid resistance of a pavement surface by measuring the Sideway Force Coefficient (SFC)

iSave is designed and built to meet or exceed international standards, including BS7941-1 and proposed ASTM standards.

iSave measures friction in both wheelpaths simultaneously for a comprehensive assessment of road conditions.

iSave’s split rim design allows for quick and easy replacement of measuring test tires

iSave applies a consistent water film to the road surface, ensuring accurate and reliable friction measurements.

iSave seamlessly integrates with the Hawkeye platform for efficient data acquisition, processing, and analysis.

In addition to skid resistance, iSave collects data on roughness, rutting, macrotexture, imagery, geometry, and more.

iSave incorporates features such as dynamic load monitoring, continuous tire pressure monitoring, and a speed-controlled water flow system to ensure accurate and consistent measurements.
