ARRB Systems recently completed a training and validation program in France, collaborating with SARSYS-ASFT to equip the Cerema team with comprehensive expertise on their newly acquired intelligent Safety Assessment Vehicle (iSAVe), which they have named the InfraGrip 3D.

Cerema, the Centre for Studies and Expertise on Risks, the Environment, Mobility and Urban Planning, are a major scientific and technical resource, provide assistance in developing, implementing and assessing public policies at national and local levels.

In a collaborative effort, ARRB Systems and SARSYS-ASFT representatives travelled to Nantes, France to undertake in-depth training on the iSAVe with the Cerema team During the week-long program, they also conducted rigorous comparison tests against Cerema’s existing friction testing systems, validating all results according to British Standard 7941-1:2006.

Cerema’s operators gained practical experience in iSAVe, learning the necessary calibration procedures and mastering survey technique, including starting/stopping surveys and referencing test points during initial data collection for validation. Following the practical training, an overview of data processing and management was carried out in Lyon, ensuring the collected data is accurately processed and effectively utilized for informed decision-making.

This successful collaboration between ARRB Systems, SARSYS-ASFT, and Cerema exemplifies a shared dedication to advancing pavement assessment for safer and more efficient road networks. ARRB Systems is proud to support global road authorities like Cerema in their mission to enhance road infrastructure. Through expert training and advanced technology, we continue to reinforce our commitment to providing the tools and knowledge necessary for world-class road management.
