ARRB Systems is proud to announce the successful completion of our fourth consecutive year as a subconsultant with the District Department of Transportation (DDOT).
DDOT entrusts ARRB systems to collect automated pavement and roadway imagery inventory across the entirety of Washington, DC, empowering smarter infrastructure decisions for the nation’s capital.
Utilizing our state-of-the-art Network Survey Vehicles (NSV), equipped with advanced Automated Crack Detection (ACD) technology and integrated multi-camera imaging, ARRB Systems meticulously delivers high-resolution pavement data across the entire DDOT roadway network. We successfully achieved 100% network coverage, providing a comprehensive and accurate picture of the District’s road condition.
Our precision datasets allow critical insights that can be actioned in an intelligent and focussed manner. These datasets delivered to DDOT include:
- Precise Pavement Distress Imaging: Utilizing advanced 3D imaging to accurately capture pavement distresses, including automated surface cracking, which plays a crucial role in overall road condition and maintenance decision making.
- Longitudinal & Transverse Profiling: Comprehensive measurement of International Roughness Index (IRI) for ride quality and rutting to assess structural deformation.
- Detailed Surface Data Collection: Accurate capture of macrotexture, patching, and ravelling data, providing granular insights into surface condition.
The data collected play a critical role for DDOT regarding Federal Reporting Compliance, supporting intelligent data-driven decisions within the PAVER Pavement Management System (PMS), while also fulfilling Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) federal reporting requirements.
This ongoing partnership underscores ARRB Systems’ commitment to supporting DDOT in maintaining and improving DC’s vital transportation network. With pertinent and precise pavement data, we enable DDOT to make decisions that lead to safer, more efficient, and longer-lasting roads for the community.
We are proud to contribute our expertise as a leading data collection discipline subconsultant, helping to shape the future of urban infrastructure management.
